Ube Syrup

As someone who loves exploring different syrups for coffee and other beverages, I was inspired to create a drink featuring ube syrup. I’d seen numerous recipes for ube drinks online, but I didn’t have any ube syrup on hand. Luckily for me Chi has a recipe for it on Instagram! It’s quick and easy, requiring only three ingredients: water, sugar, and ube extract.

Ingredients

  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 C water
  • 1 tsp ube extract or to taste

How to make: In a saucepan at low heat, add water and sugar. Mix until sugar is dissolved. Add ube extract and mix. Then raise the heat to high and let it boil for a few minutes. Lower the heat and simmer for 10-15 mins. Set aside to cool. Pour in to a mason jar and set aside in a fridge so it thickens.

I used this delicious syrup the next day to make a ube latte with matcha foam. It was sooo good!

Now that I have made this syrup I would love to start experimenting and make different homemade syrups. Let me know some syrups flavors you’d like to see.
